Picked up a fabulous mixed bucket of locally grown flowers from Grow Outside CIC this morning, and they’ve already made their way into some mixed bouquets for orders 😃🌸🌼

With the extreme weather conditions being far from ideal for keeping most flowers at their best before they reach their intended recipient, I will be reducing my stock this week.
I will keep the bare minimum, more tolerant varieties in stock, but if you require anything specific (eg a bouquet with lilies or roses in it) please order with as much notice as possible.
To bust a popular myth: the earlier you order your bouquet, the better - ordering as late as possible doesn’t mean you get the freshest flowers, and it might mean that we haven’t got what you want in stock

With just over a week until Father’s Day, now is the time to order flowers. We also have a wide range of memorial goods for Dads who are no longer with us. Pop in and have a chat to see what we can do - we’re open Tues/Thurs/Fri/Sat 8-4

Just a heads-up that I'm not back at the shop until Thursday next week (11th June), apologies for any inconvenience.

I am over the moon to finally be staying a little truer to my values by making my bubble bag bouquets and aqua box bouquets more eco friendly.
I had the biodegradable cellophane delivered this week, along with plastic free bouquet bags (made with natural Kraft card and jute handles), and will be using tissue paper to add some colour.
The flowers are tied with twine instead of plastic ribbon and the box decorated with a hessian or raffia bow.
This means that the whole thing can now be reused, composted, or recycled.
I have poly ribbon and regular cellophane to use up, so some bouquets may still be wrapped with these for a little while, but I won’t be purchasing any more 💚🌍🩵♻️

Beautiful peony season is in full swing now, and fresh in today at Bluebells of Alfreton I have 2 x 5 stems of light pink ‘Sarah Bernhardt’ and 2 x 5 stems of creamy white ‘Duchesse De Nemours’ all at £10 per bunch of 5. (Burgundy ones from last week just to show how stunning they are when they open 😍)
Peony season is short but sweet, so grab these whilst you can!

I’m open today - not usually here the day after a bank holiday as I can’t get fresh stock, so there’s not many fresh flowers available. I have had a restock on memorial items though, and got some new things I’ve not had before

Today is my last day before we go to the seaside for a week 😎 open from 8am until I’ve sold out of flowers!

Our order books for Mother’s Day are now closed. I will have plenty of bunches, bouquets and arrangements made up at the shop for you to pop in and buy, whilst stocks last.
Due to the high volume of work over this weekend, I won’t be answering the phone, or replying to messages or comments. I will also be closed on Tuesday 17th March. Thanks for your continued support and understanding

🌸🌸Not long now to get your orders in for Mother's Day (next Sunday) as our order books CLOSE Tuesday 10th March at 6pm 🌸🌸

There will still be plenty of flowers made up ready for you to call in and collect on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th, but my time and energy will be going in to making up all of the orders already placed rather than taking calls and answering messages.

Please note that I will be closed on Tuesday 17th March, reopen on Thursday 19th.

I mentioned in an earlier post that I was making some changes to how I run the business to ensure it is sustainable and healthy for me in the long term.
The next change is wedding flowers - Unfortunately, I am unable to take any bookings for wedding flowers for the foreseeable future due to personal reasons. Anyone already booked in with me has already been contacted.

Valentine's Day is fast approaching and the order books are now open. Prices range from £5 to £150

I’m back open this week with lots of lovely bright spring-y flowers, including British Daffs at just £1 a bunch!
I will be making a few small changes this year in order for the business to work more sustainably for me, the first of which is that I will no longer be taking on any work for Mondays. The market may not be open on Mondays and Wednesdays, but I often spend both days working (either doing flowers, deliveries, or admin) and months of only having one day off a week (sometimes none!!) are taking their toll both physically and mentally.

Then the market is closed over the Christmas period and I'm taking a well-earned holiday. The market reopens on Friday the 2nd Jan, and Sat 3rd, but then will be CLOSED again the following week for essential maintenance, reopening on Saturday 10th January.

This one looks stunning with the autumnal colours and flowers, and includes rose, lily, hydrangea, Veronica, alstromeria, carnation, and solidago amongst others.
This one is for sale now and is £60, or I can make to your specifications with the deluxe bouquets ranging between £50 and £150
Bunches in the shop range between £3 and £15, and bouquets for collection or delivery are between £20 and £50.

Whilst I don’t do it for the praise, it’s always lovely to get a thank you, and to have 2 thank you cards and a box of chocolates in one week is unprecedented 😋
