Mother's Day 2026 is on Sunday 15th March.
The market Hall does not open on Sunday, so I can offer collection or delivery of flowers on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th, or delivery on Sunday 15th.
There will be a wide range of products at prices to suit all budgets, however the minimum spend for delivery is £20 plus a £3 delivery charge. Keep an eye out on socials for new products available, and click below for all the information you need for ordering.

🌸🌸Not long now to get your orders in for Mother's Day (next Sunday) as our order books CLOSE Tuesday 10th March at 6pm 🌸🌸

There will still be plenty of flowers made up ready for you to call in and collect on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th, but my time and energy will be going in to making up all of the orders already placed rather than taking calls and answering messages.

Please note that I will be closed on Tuesday 17th March, reopen on Thursday 19th.

I mentioned in an earlier post that I was making some changes to how I run the business to ensure it is sustainable and healthy for me in the long term.
The next change is wedding flowers - Unfortunately, I am unable to take any bookings for wedding flowers for the foreseeable future due to personal reasons. Anyone already booked in with me has already been contacted.

Valentine's Day is fast approaching and the order books are now open. Prices range from £5 to £150

I’m back open this week with lots of lovely bright spring-y flowers, including British Daffs at just £1 a bunch!
I will be making a few small changes this year in order for the business to work more sustainably for me, the first of which is that I will no longer be taking on any work for Mondays. The market may not be open on Mondays and Wednesdays, but I often spend both days working (either doing flowers, deliveries, or admin) and months of only having one day off a week (sometimes none!!) are taking their toll both physically and mentally.

This one looks stunning with the autumnal colours and flowers, and includes rose, lily, hydrangea, Veronica, alstromeria, carnation, and solidago amongst others.
This one is for sale now and is £60, or I can make to your specifications with the deluxe bouquets ranging between £50 and £150

Thank you all so much for bearing with me over the summer holidays while I've been AWOL on Tuesdays. This is what I've been up to!
I got some funding from @we_are_makeshift / Arts Council to run some creative workshops as a project to involve the community in brightening up Severn Square near to the market. We all had such a great time, over 50 people joined in over the duration of the project and people from 4 to 48 created something to add to the display.
I installed the temporary display today, and it certainly has brightened up a bare patch of earth!

Whilst I'm on a roll, I'd like to be at the front of your mind for Christmas (sorry 🙈..not sorry) as this is a key time for many small businesses where we make enough money to see us through the lean times of the year. We are not 'just being greedy' or 'cashing in' on the spending frenzy - we really do rely on making that extra bit of money to either get us out of the overdraft from BUYING all the extra stock, or to see us through January when nobody is spending anything.

My luxury door wreaths and holly & spruce cemetery wreaths are locally handmade with the best fresh foliages, and I decorate each one by hand. I have fresh stock at least twice a week, which has been looked after properly and not left to dry to a crisp on a shelf outside a supermarket!
I can decorate to your specification, and they range from £10 for a cemetery wreath with pine cones to £50 for a large mixed foliage door wreath with baubles, decorations, and a large fabric bow.
I also make lots of bouquets, baskets, and chocolate arrangements for xmas gifts, I have an extensive memorial range, and make fresh and artificial flower memorial arrangements too.
Local delivery is available up to Christmas Eve (I have a little helper nearer to xmas), and the market has extended opening hours nearer to Christmas too.
I also run wreath making workshops locally at the end of November/beginning of December, which I will be posting about soon as these book up really quickly.

My peonies are flowering in my garden 😍 I am beyond excited!! The bumble bees are loving them 🐝

Nobody likes a price increase, and I’ve held it off for as long as I can, but my average hourly wage last year was less than £3 per hour 🫣 so if you want me to stay in business and carry on making you lovely floral arrangements then I’m afraid it’s inevitable.
Not everything has gone up (in fact, following my pricing review a few things have gone down!) and you know I will always try to keep my prices reasonable and have a good range of options.
Costs have gone up across the board, so my new prices reflect covering these costs, paying myself a little bit more (still nowhere near minimum wage though), making a bit of profit (that’s what being in business is all about!) and valuing my skill and expertise as a fully trained florist with 20+ years experience.

I break up for my holidays on Saturday, and due to ordering for funeral and weddings I had booked in, I'm probably going to have a fair bit of stock left.
I want to donate any left over flowers to local nursing homes for their residents to enjoy, so I'm asking for nominations.

I absolutely love making big bouquets, and you haven’t disappointed me over this last week Alfreton!! All bouquets over £50 get this stunning wrapping and a super-sturdy box. With enough notice I can order in special flowers such as large Hydrangeas heads and Orchids, but I can make these up within an hour with the premium flowers I have in stock. These kind of things make it bearable when I have to listen to people stand by the door and say “£5 for THAT!!”😭

Just some advanced warning of my upcoming holiday 😎

We all need a break, and none more so than a florist after their busiest time of the year. We are almost non-stop between December and March, so a short break feels well deserved once Easter is out of the way.

I will be closed for just over a week after the May Day bank holiday. My last day open will be Saturday 3rd May and I will reopen on Thursday 15th May.
